Fundraising for The Sick Children's Trust
Story
Mila was a healthy 14month old when she was rushed to hospital.
She went into hospital on 8th November 2015 4am (remembrance Sunday). We quickly knew that Mila was very sick with pneumonia.
She was so sick very quickly and it was confirmed that it was Group A Streptococcus, rare to be so poorly from this infection. Mila suffered from toxic shock syndrome because of the strength of the infection.
After a gruelling 7days of not recognising her and her looking so poorly. Mila turned a corner and got better. While she started to look better, she started fitting. The strength of the infection had caused some degree of brain damage and we where told she would have problems with vision, mobility and have developmental delay.
Her vision was perfect, she moved all her limbs and she finally looked like the beautiful Mila we knew, just without the smile she always had.
Tragically on day 17 after all her fight and bravery in intensive care she lost her fight from a brain haemorrhage on 24th November 2015.
While Mila was fighting hard to live. We where given a room in Eckersley House which is charity run by The Sick Childrens Trust. It felt privilege to be allocated this accommodation and made the journey of a nightmare abit more comfortable. We where able to bring our other daughter to the house where they had a play room for her to keep busy. It is a truly magical place.
