Over 100,000 people in the UK are affected by Dystonia, which is a neurological condition presenting with uncontrollable and sometimes painful muscle spasms. Dystonia is a lifelong condition that affects both adults and children that currently has no cure. Dystonia UK is children and adults with dystonia, carers and clinicians, fundraisers and families, medical professionals and our amazing members and supporters, all working side by side. I have had this condition for 19 years and have spent all that time trying different types of medication. Now I am waiting for DBS (deep brain stimulation) surgery. Ultimately once I get a date for surgery I will shave all my hair off to try help raise awareness of Dystonia. It’s important to mention that my hair will be donated to ‘The Little Princess trust’
