Story
I couldn't imagine a world without green spaces. I don't want to image a world where, when I run, I don't see plants or bees or wildlife.
To me, being able to run is a gift - a gift that allows me to run up hills to take in a breath taking view, to notice flowers that spring up inviting me to rest between miles and sometimes I'm sure the birds are cheering me on just like the supporters that are along the course for the 26.2 miles that makes the London Marathon!
I'm running the marathon to be a voice for the wild flowers and plants. By training in the winter to running on the day my actions will raise money to speak up for the nature that constantly gifts us its beauty and love.
Imagine never seeing wild flowers or green spaces, beautiful woodlands to nature reserves. These places are so important for the earth, for us and for generations that follow us.
And the best bit is you don't have to run - I invite you to go for a walk, find your favourite green space, wild flower, nature reserve and if you then feel compelled to speak up for it you can by sponsoring me. All contributions are gratefully received towards the £1000 target I am running for.
Thank you on behalf of this challenge, Plantlife and Mother Earth!
Much love, Em x
