My mum was diagnosed with Cancer in October 2008. She was very poorly and it didn’t look like she would make Christmas. Luckily she pulled through her 6 month course of chemo and radiotherapy. We were told in early 2009 that although the treatment had significantly reduced the size of the cancer, there was no further treatment that could be given. 3 years later she is still going strong! There will never be a cure for my mum and she really is living on borrowed time. She has recently battled pneumonia and came out fighting again! She is an amazing woman and I race for life in celebration of her and everything she has taught me and achieved.
