Story
This year I will be running the 2022 London Marathon (can't believe I'm saying this!!) in aid of Epilepsy Action.
When my nephew Phoenix was diagnosed with epilepsy back in 2020 it turned our worlds upside down, most significantly for my sister Hannah and brother-in-law Pete. Since then, they have learned to adapt and cope with his seizures, medication and the general and emotional pressures of parenting a 3 year old with this diagnosis. They are the most amazing parents and deserve endless credit for how incredibly they have handled the last couple of years.
Living with epilepsy is an on-going challenge for those diagnosed but also their loved ones. Epilepsy Action are a charity who aim to improve the lives of everyone affected by epilepsy, providing information, advice and support. My minimum fundraising target is £1,850 but I am hoping to smash this with your help!
Although many of you will know me as a runner, this will undoubtedly be the hardest challenge I've ever faced.. Coming from an 800m specialist who hated long runs and avoided even the 3k on the track! I have lots of time to mentally & physically prepare and get back into training before 2nd October, but I will need all the support and advice I can get! :)
I look forward to bringing you all along with me on my marathon journey and ask for your kind donations to a wonderful charity who need the support!
