Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I woke up one morning at the beginning of November and felt absolutely compelled to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.  This is not something that happens to me very often!.....  For a naturally risk-averse individual, doing a challenge like this is completely out of my comfort zone and not something I would normally do!  It's been a very difficult year but since committing to doing the challenge, I've felt unbelievably excited and fired up.  And although this started as a personal challenge to mark the start of a new beginning, I really wanted to help a charity which is very close to my heart - Cure Leukaemia.

My mum died of this terrible disease ten years ago, aged 56, and I miss her every day.  Leukaemia, in all its forms, is one of the most common cancers - 25,000 new cases of leukaemia or related disorders develop every year in the United Kingdom and the chance of developing leukaemia increases with age; it is especially common in adults.

This is going to be a massive challenge for me, personally, emotionally and physically.  I also want to raise as much money as I can for this worthwhile charity.  I know times are really hard for everyone at the moment, but please be as generous as you can be - I really appreciate any contribution you can make.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
