Story
I beat Cancer for the second time in December 2013, aged only 27. Having been coined "Radioactive Mum" by international media in May 2013, I decided to complete a challenge I planned in 2011.
Except this time, It's not just a personal challenge, it's a whole campaign. Instead of just walking with one friend, I plan to walk with a team of many. In fact, not just friends, anyone who has heard my story and wants to get involved, can join in. Together we are #EmmasArmy against Cancer.
The Mission
I'm planning to walk the 104 miles from Chipping Camden to Bath - Known as The Cotswold Way! I intend to complete this walk from start to finish in 10 days.
The Charity
As a child, I had 2 years of Chemotherapy, to beat Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. In 2006, I was given the all-clear.
Age 26, in Jan 2013, I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma, which I was given the all-clear from (aged 27), just four days before Christmas in 2013.
I lost my darling gran, and a few childhood friends to Cancer. My grandfather and my father are currently both fighting Cancer.
Cancer has had a devastating impact on so many people that I know. I want to do everything in my power, to fundraise for such a valuable cause, that could one day, find a cure for Cancer, and end the suffering, that 1 in 3 of us now face.
