Latest update 2nd March 2012: Thanks to very committed cake baking and eating by my work mates and fellow choir members a further £260 was raised this week!
On 5th May 2012, I'll be challenging myself to complete the Monster Bike & Hike. This is no mean feat - a 31 mile mountain bike, followed by a 23 mile hike along the Great Glen in Scotland. Thankfully I won't be doing it on my own - I'm in a team with 5 other members of the Sing in the City choir (Kirsty, Christine, Jayne, Oonagh and Kerrie).
The Monster Bike & Hike is to raise money for the wonderful Maggies Cancer Caring Centres.
Last year Sing in the City had a fantastic time entertaining the Monster Bike & Hike participants at their night afore pasta party in Fort William. As always I'm a sucker for an outdoorsy challenge and stayed on to listen to the safety briefings..and decided there and then to sign up for 2012!
This year the choir will once again be providing uplifting tunes - both at the party and during the event itself. They will also be acting as the support team for the 6 of us as we spend at least 12 hours battling blisters and aching limbs to make it to the finish line!
