HADDS AWARENESS DAY -Wauncerich Primary
On Tuesday 22nd of November Waunceirch Primary School will be celebrating HADDS Awareness Day (EBF3 HADD Syndrome ( Hypotonia, Ataxia, and Delayed Development Syndrome (HADDS) is a neurodevelopmental syndrome. As part of the schools ongoing commitment to it’s school vision :

Otters class pupil Kourtney (Koko) has this diagnosis. Koko and her family are keen to advocate for families like theirs who live with a HADDS diagnosis all around the world. And, welcomed the support of the school when asked to share our story.
Raising awareness for HADD syndrome is very important. All pupils have been encouraged to wear green and blue as part of supporting HADDS Awareness Day. Through out the day many educational activities and discussions will be given in school, focusing on HADDS and how a rare diagnosis like this can affect the individual. Mrs Irvine - Otters Class pupils will have the opportunity to hear a story called “Getting to know Koko” a HADDS awareness book. As part of the celebrations a tea/coffee afternoon hosted by Koko’s family and teachers for parents. Hot drinks and cakes will be on sale from 14:00pm-15:00pm in the school hall. This will be an opportunity to continue discussion around HADDS and the EBF3 HADDS foundation commitment to research and supporting families like Koko’s.
HADDS educational bake and educate packets will be available, along with HADDS plaid ribbon awareness badges will be for sale. Please come join us. All donations will go to the EBF3 HADDS Foundation.
