Story
Sadly on 16th August our friend Oscar, aged 3, passed away after a brave and courageous battle with leukaemia. We met Oscar when he was a few weeks old at Darlington Libraries’ Rhymetime class with our daughter Amelia and have been friends ever since. We are all devastated by the loss of Oscar and cannot imagine the heartbreak for his parents Amy and Chris.
I am running the Great North Run on 11th September and in Oscar’s memory I would like to fundraise for a charity that supports children with cancer and have chosen ‘Give A Duck Foundation’. They gave Oscar a chemo soft toy duck which helped explain what he was going through in a child friendly way and it was something really practical that helped at a very difficult time. The ducks are £25 each and are all paid for by the charity.
We would appreciate any support you can offer. Let’s buy as many chemo ducks as we can in Oscar’s memory to help other children diagnosed with cancer.
Thanks,
Emma
