Emma's quacking walk from Liverpool to Parbold!
Fundraising for International Service
Fundraising for International Service
This summer I'm volunteering for 11 weeks in Burkina Faso, in West Africa. I'll be working as part of the International Citizen Service (ICS) Scheme which brings together young people to fight poverty and injustice. International Service is an amazing charity which fights to promote and protect the rights of some of the most marginalised people around the world. I'll be working with local volunteers on grass root projects which have specifically asked for International Service's support. For more info take a look at: http://www.internationalservice.org.uk
Before I go I have been set the target of £800 to raise for International Service. This money doesn't go to me, but straight into the charity's development work in West Africa, the Middle East and South America. To try to fundraise this amount (and hopefully more!) I'm going to walk from Liverpool to Parbold along the Leeds-Liverpool canal, that's 28 miles! Its going to be tough but I hope to have a bit of fun by doing it dressed as a duck, so look out for me along the towpath!!
Thanks for your time! Any pounds you can spare would be fantastic!
