Story
My dear friends,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will know this cause is a very special one to me. At the age of 11 I lost my best friend to Cancer. Her name was Melanie and she was an inspiration to everyone she met and still is to me. We got up to all sorts of naughty antics together and she quickly became a very important part of my family. She endured a leg amputation but lived with Cancer for just over a year whilst always maintaining her smile and bare-faced cheek!
Melanie died, aged 11, 20 years ago this year.
Having not been that well myself for some time battling the double helix of Crohn's and ME, it took me a while to get my strength up to do a decent distance but now I'm feeling much better, am fit and ready, so what more appropriate anniversary to commemorate than this one?
So please dig deep and donate now. Whatever you can afford is hugely appreciated and will make an enormous difference to children like Melanie all over the country.
Thank you all so much. Hope to see you very soon, perhaps along the run course on Sun 24 October?
Much love,
Emma x
