London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

We have a very clear vision: a world where people's lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Story

Who would have thought I would be running a marathon - not me! I was stunned to get a ballot place for London, but came to grips with the challenge ahead.

Given this opportunity I couldn't miss out on fundraising. There are many charities very close to my heart, but I have decided to raise money for Action Duchenne.

I have known the 'Deeble's' now for a few years and was able to support  Sebastian and his family, in my previous job, when he was diagnosed with the condition. They are constantly striving to fundraise and make people aware of the condition.

The condition affects around 2,500 people in the UK . Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder that mostly affects boys and is characterised by progressive muscle degeneration. Most children will use a wheel chair full time by the age of 12 and very few live to their 30th birthday and many lose their fight well before this.

I would like to do my part to continue to help fund research and projects that benefit families in our community.
