As we approach the year anniversary that Kieran hung up his sword in honour on 11th March….yes it’s nearly been a whole year, a whole year of first’s without him here in person. 

I’ve set an ambitious target of £6,000 as a “pay for a day”. It cost £6,000 to run a Havens Hospice for ONE day! I will keep this page open until we hit the target. To put it in context, other running costs of Little Havens are:

• £20 for a family meal

• £21 for an hour of music therapy for a young person

• £80 for 4 hours of care in a young person’s home 

•£5 for arts and crafts materials

• Capturing our last family photo (cover photo of this page)…….PRICELESS! 

Kieran benefitted from all of these and even after he passed, we spent a week in Little Havens whilst the staff cared for us, fed us, held our hands, wiped our tears and guided us through what we needed to do, something we would have struggled to have done by ourselves. 

A number of people will be running the Brentwood Half Marathon on Sunday 12th March as Kieran’s Crew.  Unfortunately the 5k fun run has been cancelled on safety grounds, but fear not….you can still run, walk a 5k your way…..simply post your route or stats on here and we will add up how far we can get in distance and most importantly share the link.
