We research early diagnosis and treatments to beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

It was a great day, the weather was on our side and despite the freezing temperature of the Thames, the swim was far easier than I'd feared. I completed the course in 1hour and 45 minutes (swim:17min, cycle:46min, run:30min + transitions) Thanks to all the incredible support from those who followed me around and stopped Jake from throwing himself into the river and of course to all of you who have given so generously. xx

We lost our beloved Dad five summers ago after a 13 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 63.

Sadly, in 2012 the prognosis for this devastating disease is no better and only 3% of those diagnosed survive five years. Had Dad lived another five years he would have met his three beautiful grandsons, Curtis, Jake and Caleb. This is for them and the wonderful inspiring grandpa they will never know.

2007 was also the last time I 'competed' in the London Triathlon when you gave so generously and helped us to raise over £10,000 for pancreatic cancer research. This time my targets are more modest - no-one is getting any younger or richer after all. I will aim to complete the 750 metre swim, 13 mile cycle and 3 mile run upright and before the end of September and in return I hope you will donate whatever you can.

Love and thanks in advance,

Emily xx
