VSO - ICS (Youth Volunteering) · 31 December 2015 ·

VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.

Story

In February, I'm travelling to Malindi in Kenya, to work on a VSO-ICS community project for 10 weeks.

I'll be working alongside the Malindi Education and Development Association to champion the rights of children with disabilities, to ensure that they have access to the national education system.

It's estimated that there are up to 3 million people living with disabilities in Kenya, the majority of whom are marginalised within society.

I'm aiming to raise £1500 to enable other 18-25 year olds to volunteer for VSO, and make a difference to the livelihoods of marginalised and vulnerable people.

Please help me to give money as well as time, to help fight global poverty. Every penny WILL count!

Thank you, lovely people!
