Story
My mother, Joyce Curtis-Rouse, died last October and spent her final weeks in St Luke’s Hospice. The care, respect and tenderness of the all the staff, the beauty of the setting and the comfort offered by St Luke’s cannot be measured nor can the gratitude I feel for the existence of such an institution. My family and I were able to spend those last few days and nights with my mother in an environment that was kind, welcoming and - above all - respectful of us all.
St Luke's relies heavily on fundraising and donations to survive. I hope, in some small way, I am able to help someone else as my mother and my family were helped at the bleakest of times.
This walk is a tribute both to the Hospice but also to my wonderful mother.
