Story
Hi,
Happy New Year and thank you for taking the time to visit this page.
The festive period is over now, and whilst most of us are looking to 'start fresh' and put all of last year's challenges to bed, unfortunately for a lot of people, it isn't so easy to switch off from life's difficulties. In the spirit of new beginnings and looking to the future, I am taking on a challenge for the month of January, to raise awareness (and hopefully some cash) for Mental Health Charity, Mind.
R.E.D January stands for Run Every Day January. Whether you decide to run or walk, there are no rules. The aim is to get active every day, while raising vital funds for Mind. Feel free to join in and challenge yourself, you don't have to fund raise either, just enjoy a sense of achievement and wave goodbye to the January Blues!
Here's a bit of info about R.E.D January from Mind:
"Not only is R.E.D January a brilliant way to kick-start the New Year, but in taking part you are helping to raise awareness and open up the conversation about mental health. Every penny you raise will fund Mind’s vital work such as the Mind Infoline, our information and advice services, as well as the campaigning we do to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.
It costs us £6 to answer one call to the Mind Infoline, our expert helpline for anyone needing advice and support about mental health problems. Every little could truly make a huge difference to someone's life."
Thanks again for reading. Cheers if you have donated, and good luck if you decide to give it a go :)
