Story
Each Christmas, the players of the CBSO run an alternative Christmas card to raise money for charity. Instead of giving each other Christmas cards, we donate the money we would have spent on cards to a chosen charity. This year we've chosen Moseley for Ukraine - a local charity (working under the wing of Moseley Community Development Trust) which was set up when the war in Ukraine broke out.
Moseley for Ukraine has already helped over 150 people arriving from Ukraine fleeing war. Initially this was through support in matching to hosts and now focus has moved to supporting people who are settling in Moseley and surrounding areas.
Every week over 50 people from Ukraine come to a weekly drop in at Moseley Hive, where they are able to access support and most importantly provides a space for them to connect and meet others in a similar situation who are settling locally.
Funds raised will be used to respond directly to specific needs identified by individuals, for example this may include:
- welcome packs for newly arrived refugees
- support with transport costs
- support with accessing food and other essentials if experiencing financial hardship
- supporting the ongoing running of the weekly drop in
- events, activities and trips
Please give as generously as you can and remember to tick the box for Gift Aid. Thank you and Happy Christmas!
