Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have donated my hair to "The Little Princess Trust" so they can have it made into a wig for a child or young person who has lost their own hair through illness.

The Big Day was Saturday 31st May! Danny, of Daniel Fairfax Hair Salons, cut 26" off Elodie's hair and styled it beautifully.

When I was born I had lots of hair. My Mummy liked it so much as it grew that she never got it cut. As I got older, I also enjoyed having long hair. By the time I started nursery it was already right down my back. Once I started primary school, I had to have it tied up every day. It has always taken ages to brush but I still loved it and didn't want it cut either, until now. Sometimes I would cry if it became too tangly and Mummy would say I had the option to cut it, but I never wanted to before, so I'd try to be brave while it was being brushed. I think what Mummy saved on hair cuts, she spent on de-tangling spray! I like it when people think I look like a real life Rapunzel, but I hate all the brushing I have to have! When I do my gymnastics, my hair gets caught while I do cart wheels or hand stands, unless I have it tied up really high but then I can't do head stands! So I have finally decided that it needs to be shorter...much shorter!

I've seen someone near me who lost their hair through having cancer treatment and Mummy told me that this happens to children too. She said that if I was ever to have my hair cut, I could give it to a charity who would make it into a wig for a child to wear until their own hair grew back. When Mummy explained this we decided together that when my hair was cut I could donate it and also try to raise some money at the same time to donate to a children's cancer charity.

Because I want my hair to help make a wig for another child, I chose to donate it to "Little Princess Trust", and so I can help two charities, I chose that I will donate any money I raise to "Clic Sargent". I chose these two charities because they are both for children, as I am still only 8 years old.
