Story
It all came about one Saturday evening in January when my good friend (now sworn enemy) Michelle Williams suggested that her, I and two of our other friends Amy Hall and Becky Thompson needed to do something extraordinary, "2015 is the year of challenge!" she exclaimed. A few glasses of red wine and a lot of #thisgirlcan pep talks later and we were all on board, having settled on the 3 Peaks Challenge (I mean how hard could it really be, it's all over in 24 hours).
Not fully understanding the magnitude of what we had just signed up for, our 'training' began. This mainly consisted of a few yoga classes and a couple of runs around the block, it wasn't until we had a practice climb of Scarfel Pike that we realised, oh dear, this is going to be quite hard.
We decided to raise money for different charities that were important to us, I chose Shelterbox. It was my parents that made me aware of ShelterBox; a charity that provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world, overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.
As I write this the earthquake in Nepal has just happened, a charity like Shelterbox can really make a difference. For every £590 I raise, I can send 1 x Shelterbox to a family in need, giving them the shelter and equipment they need to survive, and I can even track where my Shelterbox goes!
Thanks for visiting my page and reading this. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure knowing the support I have behind me will give me the mental resolve I need to complete this challenge, as Michelle keeps promising me "it's mind over matter!"
