We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

This last year has seen our family and friends lose so many people to cancer.

Since I hate running and I’m knackered after walking up the stairs, I have instead decided to cut my hair off, not only to raise money for Cancer Research but also so I can donate my hair to The Little Princess Trust so it can be made into a wig for a little boy or girl who has lost their hair to chemotherapy.

This isn't just about the ones we have lost but those who may yet become victims of this disease.

So on the 1st October, when hopefully my hair will be long enough, I will be having it cut off…we are talking pixie cut though not shaving my hair off just so we are clear.

In the days and weeks leading up the chop I hope to raise awareness about several of the different cancers that have affected my family and friends, some that are so silent and have left families devastated.

With the latest statistics showing that 1 in 3 people will be affected by cancer at some point in their lifetime I don't think there is a better time to raise money and awareness.

So to my Great Uncle Len, Michael, Mo, Rose, Karen, Lynne, my cousin Matt who came through it but it will always remain part of his life with checkups and all the others we know who are fighting the fight…I stand by you and everyone who loves you, always.
