"One small step for a crazy person. . . "
Kenny and I are tackling our biggest combined fear head-on and taking the giant leap from a plane 12,000ft in the air, to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research.
Leaukaemia is a blood cancer, far more common than you may think, as I discovered earlier this year when my mum was diagnosed with the disease. And although it may not get the same publicity as breast cancer or prostate cancer, it is a killer - accounting for 1/3 of all diagnosed cancer cases annually.
If it wasn't for charities like Leukemia and Lymphoma Research, focusing on finding the causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running groundbreaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients - my mum wouldn't be in the high-spirits that she is in today.
Around 7,000 adults are diagnosed with leukemia each year in the UK alone, and a further 2,000 children. Some losing their hair, their normality and in too many cases, their lives.
Let them not lose their hope. Help us to beat blood cancers!
