Story
Update.
Well, this page has been inactive for a while. My training was going really well at first. In March, on schedule I did a half marathon and got under 2 hours, which was what I'd been hoping for. Unfortunately I also injuried myself in the process, and put myself so far back I realised I wouldn't be able to complete the marathon. I was trying right until recently to find another marathon to do later this year so I could transfer this page across.
However, this week my family has suffered a tradgedy when my cousin Phil, and his partner Amy, lost their beautiful 5 month old baby son, Koby.
My fund raising efforts will resume when we find the cause of his death, and I will run a marathon in his memory.
RIP little Koby, we shall never forget you xx
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Running a marathon has been on my *to do* list for some time now, and 2011 seemed as good a year as any! I can't see myself doing this again, as with 3 children and a full time job just fitting the training in is going to be a challenge! Fortunately my brother Alex has agreed to do it with me, and support (carry?) me throughout :)
As I'm only going to do the one marathon, I thought I'd make sure I do it for a worthy cause, so we are running it for Save the Children. Save the Children are an independant charity working for the rights of children all over the world - you can see more about what they do here -> http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/en/what-we-do.htm
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks, wish us luck! Ellie (& Alex)
