Story
For years I've been saying that I want to do marathon before I'm 30.....I'm 29 so it's now or never. I've completed several half marathons and always thoroughly enjoyed them and the sense of achievement you get with it. Earlier this year I went along to support my parents taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon (both aged 61yrs) and I found myself feeling very envious but at the same time burst with pride for them. I knew then I needed to experience it as a runner next time rather than a spectator…..I’m scared though!
I have chosen to run and raise money for City in the Community. They are a great team of people and very generous as they are constantly doing me huge favours to help make my life easier. I regularly hear and read about the work they do and occasionally I’m lucky enough to help out with their larger fundraising events in and around Manchester City Football Club. When the opportunity came up to run on their behalf I was keen to say thank you and it’s come at a great time as CITC prepare for their 30th season. Here's a link to get a better understanding of what CITC set out to achieve https://mcfc.co.uk/Community/Community
I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page and any donation you can spare is hugely appreciate by myself and CITC. Messages of support will also really help guilt trip me into doing some more training……running in Manchester weather is grim!
