Story
Hi everyone! As some of you might know (and if you do then hopefully you aren't already bored of hearing about it!), at the start of the year I signed up to run the London to Brighton Ultramarathon and, on 27th May, I will be running 100km to raise money on behalf of Just One Ocean 🌊
Just One Ocean has a mission to raise global awareness of the issues facing coastal environments in order to protect and conserve them for future generations.
Having lived by the coast in beautiful North Devon for my whole life, I couldn’t think of a cause that I want to support more. We all have an obligation, no matter how big or small, to protect and preserve our oceans for now, and for future generations and I feel passionately about ensuring my nieces and nephew are able to enjoy the beautiful coastlines that I have. 🏖🐠🐟🐡
The ultramarathon itself will be the longest distance that I have ever attempted (further than I have ever run in in a whole week for that matter!) and is equivalent to almost 2.5 marathons all at once (yikes!) I'm feeling apprehensive to say the least but know the knowledge that I will be raising money for Just One Ocean will keep me motivated during those challenging long runs.
In order to raise money, I will be raffling off a hamper that has been generously donated by @dryrobe containing 1 x adult dryrobe, 1 x compression bag and 1 x changing mat.
I would be over the moon if any of my friends would like to support me in achieving my goal (or just want the chance of winning a funky new dryrobe!!). To buy tickets for the raffle please donate to my Just Giving page (if your donation is in exchange for a raffle entry the you won't be able to claim giftaid, unfortunately). Tickets are £2 each (£10 donation = 5 entries). I will be using a spreadsheet to track entries and drawing the lucky winner on 23rd April 2023 (London Marathon Day 🇬🇧). If you would prefer to donate using cash, please send me a message 😊
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE YOUR NAME SO I CAN A) THANK YOU AND B) KNOW WHO YOU ARE FOR TICKETS! 💙💚💙💚💙💚
Thank you all so much in advance and, if anyone has an ultramarathon tips, please hit me up! 😘
