Story
Our DNA is tied to our ancestors' greatest gifts.
The closest piece of wealth I inherited from my family was the fit of faith. Most would argue wealth can be passed onto generations for monetary reasons. My most vivid and tangible memory of my maternal grandmother was praying a rosary in my native pueblo of Jalostotitlán, Jalisco Mexico.
The most rewarding part about being in the leadership cohort for Catholic Charities is re-living traditions. Those traditions my grandparents taught our family has resulted in me incorporating those faith traditions into my everyday life from academia to my professional career, and now Catholic Charities of Atlanta ("CCA" ). This faith has grown to admiration and respect for the leaders and organizations focused on social work and acts of kindness such as Catholic Charities of Atlanta. The organizations I have joined through my collegiate journey till now have been purpose-driven and hold compassion and passion at their essence. Without the two, you cannot lead a village for change. CCA is both purpose-driven and embodies compassion every day.
- Helping our refugees by relieving those who have been displaced due to violence and poverty by settling them into communities.
- Helping our veterans by relieving their caregivers and families.
- Investing in our children helps our youth become a sustainable path in our community
Please help CCA with fulfilling its missions and be one in many in the village of compassion: a cause that can change the narrative, shift the worry, and seek gratitude. Help me help those who need hope, appreciations, and a compassionate reminder of our mission to serve with a heart.
