Story
Just back from my (early) StRide in aid of the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust and St Mary's Cogges. I started by walking out to St Mary's North Leigh, and then worked round by footpaths and lanes to St James the Great, South Leigh. I went on via Stanton Harcourt (St Michael's) to St Denys, Northmoor and St Giles, Standlake, and finally made my way back to St Mary's Cogges. I estimate that (with some inefficient mapreading) I walked about 14 miles - enjoying both the September sunshine and the churches I was visiting. I came back feeling even more strongly that this OHCT event is so worthwhile in the support it gives for these very precious buildings.
All money that you are kind enough to donate through this Justgiving page will come to the OHCT, but the Trust will pay half of the donation to St Mary's Cogges. The share that the Trust retains will go towards grants to churches and chapels in Oxfordshire of all denominations towards the cost of major fabric repairs.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Huge thanks again to everyone who has been generous enough to donate to the cause.
