Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know my wonderful daughter Natasha has some developmental problems and was diagnosed as a baby with a hearing impairment. She is 18 now and all through that time the National Deaf Children's Society - NDCS- have given us information and support as well as opportunities in more recent years for Natasha herself to spend time away from us trying out new activities. All of this has been really invaluable to us as a family, from the early days of uncertainty about what Natasha's diagnosis would mean, to today when she is being enabled to develop her independence.
When I started to run 3 years ago I couldn't run for more than a couple of minutes at a time and I certainly never dreamed of running a marathon. Even now that running is a regular part of my life a marathon is still a daunting challenge for me and I really wanted to make it meaningful and purposeful. Raising money for a charity that has provided so much for us - all with no or just a token charge - seemed the obvious thing to do and a great way to make sure that NDCS can carry on giving other deaf children and their families the help which we have so much appreciated.
I really hope you will feel able to help the NDCS by sponsoring me this year and I, and they, will be truly grateful. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thankyou for reading and I will let you know how my marathon journey goes...
