I've always said I would run a marathon and for some reason my aim was always to run a marathon by the age of 25 or in my 25th year...which is this year! This goal became even more real, when in November 2014, my family and I were given the devastating news that my mum had been diagnosed with secondary cancer. The first time was in 2002, so we were told that for it to return 12 years later is quite unusual. I know running a marathon is going to be extremely hard work, and the training has already begun, but this news gave me more of a reason and made me more determined to make it happen (it may even turn into more than 1marathon - we shall see!) in 2015 in order to raise money for a very worthwhile charity. I've decided to raise money for the Primrose Hospice - a local charity based in Bromsgrove - who are currently supporting mum through weekly support sessions where she is able to speak to people going through similar to what she is.
