Story
I am running the 2023 Royal Parks Half Marathon again this year in honour of Xiomara Rose Misseldine & to raise money for an amazing charity.
I have now been a trustee with SLOW - Surviving the Loss of Your World-for almost 2 years and I can truly attest that the incredible work they do provides a lifeline to bereaved families.
I have been personally impacted by loss, and know so many that have lost a child or sibling. This year my dear friend Ana, her daughter Vera, and her husband TJ lost their beautiful daughter Xiomara aged 1 1/2 after a long battle with biliary atresia. It is in her honour, and to help families suffering the unimaginable that I am running this year.
SLOW is a London based charity run by bereaved parents and siblings providing support for bereaved families. Many of the facilitators of the support groups, started out as members of the groups years ago, and are now, in turn helping others. Members of the groups say the support is a lifeline, giving them a chance to connect and share their experiences with other bereaved families.
Here’s what one SLOW member said about the groups, “I’ve managed gradually over the years to rebuild my life and SLOW has been there all the time and I’ll support them for as long as I can.”
Please support me by donating to enable SLOW to continue to support bereaved families who have suffered the devastating loss of a child in the family.💜🦋
