Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Age UK is for all of us, because age is a part of life. I want to make sure that older people have the freedom of choice to stay in their own homes and get the opportunity to socialise with others and that plenty of help and advice is available to all who need it.
I managed to complete the marathon in 6:08. I was thrilled to do my half-marathon split in 2:41 and was heading for a good time but felt rather unwell in the second half of the race so it was as much as I could do to finish! Still improved on last year's time by 3 mins!
Thank you all for sponsoring me - for those who still want to, you can sponsor me up to August 31st if you so wish when this page will close.
Thanks to all my friends. relations and colleagues who have sponsored me, this includes friends at Hammersmith and Fulham Libraries, Goldsmiths Choral Union and St Mary's Church. I am now well over that magic target of £1,600. Being part of the Age UK Spring Fete, Askew Rd Library Crafts Fair, doing a sing-along at Age UK, Greyhound Rd and holding a coffee morning with musical entertainment was great fun as well as providing support in my fundraising. Thanks also to Wagawama, Sainsburys and Tesco for donating vouchers towards a raffle.
