Story
My name is Eleanor (known to many as Elle), and I’ve been
growing my hair since I cut it seriously short when I was 5. As it has
got longer, I’ve loved learning Lord-of-the-Rings, Medieval, & Game-of-Thrones inspired hairstyles. Carrie Hope Fletcher ( YouTube vlogger; Les Mis performer; & sister of Tom from McFly) has helped me realise what a wonderful gift my hair could be to somebody who needs it much more than me – a child with cancer.
Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs for children who have lost theirs through something like cancer. As well as donating my hair, I’m aiming to raise £350 - which is about how much it costs for the wig to be made.
On the 31st of May, the guys at Scruffs will be doing the deed: Christian
will cut 7-10” off, & Gary and his team will prepare it for wig making. Christian has done this kind of cut before, and Gary works at the local
hospital making wigs for those who need it – so I’m in very good hands.
Why am I doing this??? Over the last year I’ve become more engaged with charities like MIND and MindEd, who raise awareness and campaign on the behalf of teenage mental health. I’ve come to realise how our ‘selfie’ dominated generation are encouraged to think about ourselves and our lives - with little thought of others and those who need our help. By doing this, I hope to show how acts of kindness can bring happiness to those who need it, and how kindness can offer a new, multi-dimensional view of life.
This really is a big deal for me, as I’ve had my hair long for ages and have so loved learning how to style it, and use it to enhance my character in shows I’ve performed in. Upon learning what a difference it makes, my mind was made up.
Thank you to Carrie for inspiring me to make a difference. Thanks also to the wonderful people I have gotten to know over the years - I would really appreciate your support.

Thank you,
Elle
