Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Your donations for Children Today can provide vital, life changing equipment to children and young people living with diabilities. This has an immediate impact on their quality of life and independence to overcome obstacles and achieve their potential.
Participating in the The PFA ChildrenToday Challenge Cup, an adventure which includes mountain biking and kayaking in the desert and trekking in the stunning Grand Canyon, is my way of raising money to help these young people to experience more freedom and a wider range of activities to improve their quality of life.
The challenge includes:
- Team building and bike challenge at McDowell Mountain Park
- Walking and bike race along the Greenway Bike Pathway
- Kayak race along the river in the Sonoran Desert
- Hiking to the bottom of the Canyon and back again
- Beaver Falls Hike
- Hiking up Carbonate Canyon
There is no statutory right for young people with disabilities to be provided with the equipment they need by the Government or the NHS, so Children Today fill the gap for children and young people up to the age of 25. Children Today want to extend its services to many more children and young people. The only thing stopping them is the money that is raised.
The Paralympics in Great Britain demonstrated to us all how much will and determination these young people have to live life to the full. Not every one can be a paralympian but all young people with disabilities, and their families, deserve our support to help them make their lives worthwhile.
I am grateful for your interest and support and all your donations will go directly to Children Today.
