A brave mother, who fought cancer three times in four years finally lost her fight against the disease.
Eileen of Sunderland died on October 3rd 2004.
Eileen was just 50 when she died, first contracted breast cancer four years ago, when she was 46.
It was a particularly harrowing time for the family as Eileen's husband Mick had already been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Both recieved treatment and Eileen had the lump removed, and underwent chemotherapy to treat the disease which was successful and for two years that followed was clear of the cancer.
Then last year Eileen was told she had, again contracted cancer this time of the liver. She had radiotherapy for six months to treat it.The treatment was not enough to clear Eileen of the disease for good, and in May 2004 she discovered the cancer had spread to her brain. She finally lost her battle in October 2004.Eileen left behind, husband Mick, son Mark, daughter Aimee and three grand children.
