Story
Hello everyone,
We are proud parents of a joyful and curious baby. Recently, our little one was diagnosed with severe positional plagiocephaly, also known as flat head syndrome. This condition has caused a significant asymmetry in our baby's head shape, and we have been advised to seek cranial orthotic treatment to correct it.
Tummy time and repositioning have helped, but the condition requires more intensive intervention. Unfortunately, the NHS does not cover this treatment, considering it a cosmetic issue. The total cost of the cranial orthotic headband and associated care is £2,500, a substantial amount that is beyond our current financial means.
Why This Is Important to Us:
This treatment is crucial for our baby’s development and future well-being. Without it, the asymmetry could lead to long-term physical and social challenges. By intervening now, we can ensure our baby grows up with a normal head shape, free from potential complications.
How the Funds Will Be Used:
The funds will cover the cost of the cranial orthotic headband.
They will also support follow-up appointments and necessary adjustments.
Any additional funds raised will go towards associated travel and medical expenses.
Important Information:
7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.
If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
Your support, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in our baby’s life. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation to help our little one have a healthy and bright future.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tadas and Indra
