Story
Edinburgh actors...previously spotted in a Christmas show near you...may not be getting their finale ‘walk down’ this year but will walk 12K (socially-distanced of course!) for the brilliant Sick Kids Hospital. 🎄 🎄 🎄
As redundant Ugly Sisters, Princesses and Baddies we may be pining for our itchy wigs, ankle-breaking heels and sweaty costumes but we still have the Christmas Spirit!
It’s no secret that we can normally be seen strutting about balls with Kings and Queens at the likes of Lyceum, Brunton, Citizens, Tron and Kings Theatres. But this year theatre is in a pickle with shows unable to go on in the traditional way. So we are of course missing our little pals in the audience! This also sadly means that there are no cast children’s hospital visits or charity bucket collections.
Even us ugly sisters aren’t ALL bad, so once Cinderella had cleaned the house we ordered her to get on zoom and ask some pals if they wanted to raise some cash. On 12th December, 12 Edinburgh actors will be walking 12k around the city to raise money for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. (And we shall be kept warm thanks to some hot drinks courtesy of our friends at the Black Ivy. )
FEAR NOT, the King and Queen have given us our orders: walking in pairs, yer 2 households, socially-distanced at 2 metres apart, with staggered starts. So we definitely won’t be behind you!!!
At Christmas our job is normally to try and bring a wee bit of magic into children’s lives but what the staff at the Sick Children’s hospital do for poorly children all year round is real magic, it’s incredible. Our hearts go out to children and their families who are in hospital at any time of the year and it must be particularly hard over the festive period. Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity needs our support more than ever.
We know it’s been a tough year for so many but if you were able to spare a few pounds for such a great cause it would be so appreciated. Please just dinnae chuck yer sweets at us!!!!!
With thanks,
Nicola, Kirsty, Isabella, Jenny, Hannah, Arron, Jennifer, Mori, Tim, Julie, Natalie & Elspeth
