We provide free one to one counselling to those bereaved by suicide

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising funds for local counselling charity Beacon Counselling Trust for their suicide bereavement project Paul's Place.

Paul’s Place is a specialist bereavement counselling service named in memory of two young men from Liverpool: Paul Jensen and Paul “Geoff” Williams, who both sadly died by suicide. Paul Jensen is the brother of Kathy Devlin and Paul Williams is the son of Agnes and Joe Williams; who are the co-founders of Paul's Place.

Last year, over 36,000 people were affected by the death of a loved one to suicide in Merseyside. Paul's Place offers a free trauma specific service to help people bereaved by suicide come to terms with their grief.

It costs Paul's Place £1000 to put a person through their service from initial assessment, through to counselling and support to access peer and wellbeing groups. It takes many drops to fill the bucket and every pound counts towards helping a person access the support they desperately need.

To help raise funds for Paul's Place BCT, I will be completing an indoor cycle on the same day as the Liverpool Half Marathon where the Paul's Place fundraising team will be running in support of the charity.
My goal is to ride DOUBLE distance 42km / 26 miles and beat the fastest course time of 1hr.06.

As some may know, I've had my fair share of injuries over the years which means I can't run the course but will be giving it my best shot on my bike! As an OAP, it won't be an easy challenge, but one I really want to take on for the charity.

Please donate what you can and help me raise some vital funds for a local, desperately needed charity.
