Story
We are raising money for Ed Jackson through the Matt Hampson Foundation.
Ed is a professional rugby player who plays for Newport Gwent Dragons. His rugby journey started with Bath Academy and he played for Doncaster, London Welsh and Wasps before ending up in Wales.
Ed suffered a fracture dislocation at the C6/7 joint after diving into a swimming pool. He has been diagnosed with an incomplete spinal cord injury. This means that the cord is damaged but not severed completely. Damage can range from quadriplegia to a complete recovery however the extent will only be apparent over time. Ed is thankfully making progress and is in need and will be in need of intensive rehabilitation for the foreseeable future.
All the money raised will be used to help with Ed's medical expenses to aid his rehabilitation and to fund the necessary changes he will possibly have to make to his residence to make it safe and accessible for someone in his position.
The Matt Hampson Foundation's aim is to provide advice, support, relief and/or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation. We assist individuals by offering direct grants or by paying into existing and future funds to assist with equipment, technology or just every day expenses.
