Story
Wetlands are essential for life. The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) creates and protects wetland habitats to provide water, food and shelter for people and wildlife. They save species around the world from extinction, and their nine UK Wetland Centres inspire thousands of visitors to enjoy being close to nature.
A bit of background:
I have been working with the WWT for around 12 years. I started at the age of 12 with my own collection of wildfowl & volunteering to aid with much of their unsung global work!
Last year I took on the Isle of Man Marathon to support an ongoing sustainability project in Madagascar.
This September the focus is a little closer to home. My efforts will contribute towards vital field research to save the Greenland Greater White-fronted Goose from extinction.
The goose winters principally in Wexford (southern Ireland) and parts of Scotland. Numbers in the latter have declined 50% in the past 15yrs.
I hope you can share my passion in supporting my latest marathon to help this vital area of work.
Whatever donation you afford will make 42kms around the Loch Ness that bit easier....... & get this goose back on the right track!
Many thanks Edward ;)
