Story
Public service workers have been stepping up and running around to keep things going during the COVID-19 crisis; from the NHS to social care, education to police staff, our communities rely of these key workers and more.
To show our support for these public service heroes we, the Eastern Regional Organisers (UNISON staff who have been working to support branches through the crisis), are going to step up and run around ourselves to raise money for There for You, the charity that offers financial and emotional support to 1.3 million members of UNISON.
Throughout the pandemic There for You set up a COVID-19 fund which provided valuable support to UNISON members experiencing hardship due to the pandemic. It isn't right that our key workers should have nowhere to turn, so we decided to get ourselves active to help support UNISON members that might face hardship during these tough times.
Please help us meet our fundraising goal for collectively walking/running/cycling 500 miles during September... you never know, if we smash the target we might be persuaded to do 500 more!
Taking part in this challenge are the following Eastern Regional Organisers:
Catherine Ward, Cheryl Godber, Deb Soer, Jeff Keighley, Julie Trundell, Lorraine Kalaher, Nalin Cooke, Natalie Platts, Peter Passingham, Sam Older, Shane Hall, Tracey Sparkes, Winston Dorsett
We hope you can support us!
