Story

The world has weeks left to save millions of lives. If we don't act now, we may forever live to regret not taking action. East Africa is facing a catastrophe. The extent of suffering that is currently taking place means that millions are facing imminent death.

Somalia, Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia are experiencing the worst humanitarian disaster of recent times. The UN say they've seen nothing like it before.

Brutal conflict and drought has led to famine, food scarcity and extreme levels of poverty. This has left 800,000 children suffering from severe malnutrition. 16 million in East Africa are on the brink of death and 23 million are in urgent need of food, water and medical treatment.

- 6.2 million people in Somalia need urgent humanitarian
assistance.

- 2.9 million Somalis are at risk of famine.

- 4 children die every day when famine is declared.

- Over 1.5 million children under the age of 5 will be at
risk of dying of starvation if we don't act now.

- 19.5 million people across East Africa do not have a
regular supply of safe drinking water.

- Only 1.5 million people have managed to flee East Africa in search of safety.

- 2.1 million people are still trapped within the conflict zones of East Africa.

These are human beings who bleed the same as we do. No child deserves to live like this. No human deserves to be treated like this.
