Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas supports underprivileged children by donating Christmas gifts and essentials to those living in hardship and poverty living locally all over Glasgow and surrounding regions. Giving is the true spirit of Christmas!

Story

Imagine waking up as a child on Christmas Day to no toys, gifts or a hot meal. Every child deserves gifts on Christmas Day no matter what their circumstances are… 1 in 5 children in Scotland and 1 in 3 in Glasgow lives in poverty and that figure is set to rise over the coming years with a massive increase forecasted this year in child poverty.

It has been a yearly tradition at EY Glasgow to support local charities with our Christmas Giving tree. This year is no different, although how we do this needs to be different.  I’m sure we will all miss seeing all the generous gifts around the office waiting to be delivered, however this doesn’t mean that we can’t turn some sad faces into bright happy excited children on Christmas morning with the same generosity of previous years.

We have again decided to work with Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas who donate Christmas gifts to children affected by hardship or living in poverty.  Rather than donating actual gifts, we are asking you to donate via this Just Giving page which will provide the donation straight to Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas and will be used to purchase gifts.  We understand that this is a hard year for everyone so anything which you can donate is greatly appreciated and going to such a worthy cause.

Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas was originally set up by one woman in 2014 and has grown since then.  They support communities all over Glasgow and surrounding regions, including North and South Lanarkshire, East and West Dunbartonshire, Dumbarton District, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North, South and East Ayrshire, Argyll & Bute and East Renfrewshire. They have over 15,000 children on their list this year which is a 50% increase on last year!
