Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of my family and friends know I have motor neurone disease. I was diagnosed in June 2014 but symptoms began in March 2013. Initially my voice began to misbehave! As an infant teacher I felt it was somewhat problematical but I persevered until my diagnosis. Symptoms have continued and as a result I now need a lot of care. The local NHS team and The Martlets have been excellent. I have also received financial support from MNDA. I now use a stairlift installed with their support and as this illness progresses which it surely will, I may well need further help from them as do all the other sufferers of this horrible disease.

Family and friends have already raised considerable funds through the ice bucket challenge, the cycle ride at Brighton velodrome, a walk in my home town of Usk and  donations for the hell of it!

This page is set up initially because my 85 year old father is planning to have his head shaved for MNDA! As plans are finalised I will edit this page and let you know when and where! The date is set for August 17th!
