2014 Tour de France · 10 May 2014

Engineers for Overseas Development (EFOD) is a charity run by young professionals from the construction industry. We aim to deliver projects which improve the health, hygiene, education and self-sufficiency of poverty afflicted communities in the developing world in a sustainable manner.

Story

On the 10 of May James Birchall, Nick Colledge, Greg Thompson, Ben Palmer, Dave Scott, Keith Wells and Andy Kenny, will be attempting to cycle the first stage of the 2014 Tour de France in support of Engineers for Overseas Development Northwest’s ‘Grain for Gain’ project. The riders will follow the exact route of the first stage of the 2014 Grand Depart. Beginning at Leeds town hall the team will cycle a gruelling 118 miles through the Yorkshire Dales including the famous Butter Tubs Pass before finishing their ride into Harrogate.

Please support our riders by donating to the EFOD Grain for Gain project.

The funds raised for ‘Grain for gain’ will contribute to the construction of a food store for Mam Riang Women’s Cooperative (MRWC) based in the village of Nyakoi, Eastern Region, Uganda. The store will provide a means for the women and their families to store food year round, providing food security and ensuring they are able to sell quality produce for a high return outside of harvest seasons.
