Story
The annual ball held by The Eden Dora Trust for Children with Encephalitis (EDT) is the charity's largest fundraiser. This year's ball was due to be held on 13 November but Covid-19 restrictions obviously mean that the ball cannot go ahead. Last year's ball raised a staggering £40,000 and I can only imagine how much the charity is really going to feel the loss of this year's ball. This got me thinking.... how can I help?
Having brainstormed a few ideas with friends and family we agreed that we would like to still 'buy a ticket' to the ball (i.e. donate the equivalent cost of the ticket (£50) to the charity) or donate the money we would have spent on the night. This got us wondering how many more people would also consider doing the same.
I know the charity would be so appreciative of anyone who would like to donate in lieu of going to the ball too (whether you would have really been going or not!). Tickets usually cost £50, strips of raffle tickets cost £10, auction prizes are of course unlimited as is a round at the bar! If you would like to support this wonderful charity then please give as little or as much as you can.
On the night of 13 November I will be making a toast to EDT (although sadly I will probably be in my PJs rather than in my ball gown!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Please share far and wide!
