How to sign up: Sign up here to the ECS Lockdown Challenge
How to record your mileage: Record your miles here Every day for 2 weeks, when you have completed your daily exercise, record the total miles that you and your family have walked/run by completing this form
When: Friday 8th - Thursday 21st May 2020
As a result of this pandemic charities across the UK have seen their income from donations drop dramatically. At the same time we adapt to new ways of living and working during lockdown, many of us take full advantage of the time we are allowed outside for daily exercise, by walking or running.
As we enter week 6 of lockdown and the weather turning typically British, many of us need the motivation to keep up our daily exercise. Setting this challenge and raising funds for a worthwhile cause will give us the drive to do that little bit extra.
The challenge is kept strictly to our one daily exercise and only with persons from the same household whilst observing Government guidelines at all times.
The idea of the challenge is to record miles walked or run by staff from Oxford Brookes University, their families and pets whilst out on their daily exercise over a two week period starting Friday 8th May 2020. The challenge is to accumulate 5000 miles between those who sign up and raise some funds for Brookes Sport 2020 nominated charity, Headway Oxfordshire
Headway Oxfordshire is a charity that supports people affected by acquired brain injury, which has been as a result of a stroke, tumour, haemorrhage or disease or a road traffic accident, fall or sporting injury. Their mission is to improve life after brain injury and to raise awareness of brain injury. Their centre in Kennington provides rehabilitation activities. They also provide 1-1 community support that help support individuals integrate back into everyday community life.
Please support us in our challenge and to raise funds for Headway Oxfordshire by donating what you can afford.
