I am raising money for the local charity, Totnes Caring. They do such fantastic work in supporting our elderly and vulnerable community members. Many of them may be suffering with dementia or are unable to leave the house, lonely or recently discharged from hospital. Totnes Caring offer a vital service including running memory cafes and art groups for those suffering with dementia or just those that are looking for some company and stimulation. They provide hospital visit and appointment pick up services, a shopping service for those in need and buddy and companion schemes. They are on hand to offer advice and support to those that need it. They are also now running monthly pop up cafes with Food in the Community, offering hot meals, music and fun and some much needed social interaction. They don’t get much press for the great work they do and they thoroughly deserve it!
