Story

Hi, I'm Cycling 300 miles with a group of friends from the Newcstle Emlyn area from London to Paris in aid of Bobath Wales. Between us we are aiming to raise £10,000 Cycling from London to Paris is one of the great cycle experiences in Europe. Passing through picturesque Kent countryside, we cross the Channel and continue through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France, passing the famous battlefields of the Somme and Agincourt. With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill-climbs, the sight of the Eiffel Tower, our finishing point, will evoke a real sense of achievement. Each year in Wales, approximately 70 families will receive the news that their child, grandchild, niece or nephew has cerebral palsy and may be unable to sit, walk, talk, swallow or breathe effectively or do everyday activities that we all take for granted. Babies born in Wales with cerebral palsy need specialist therapy as early as possible after birth, to ensure that they develop and achieve their full potential.Often, children are not referred to Bobath Wales for specialist therapy until they are 2 years or older. Parents often state they wish they had found out about Bobath therapy earlier so that their child would have had the best start in life. We currently have over 570 children from all over Wales on our case load, with more referrals received each year.We have launched our Better Start Better Future Appeal, to focus specifically on the importance of specialist Bobath therapy for babies. Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
