More than 20 willing walkers will tackle the National Three Peaks Challenge for Durham Foodbank in June. The group, including members of Emmanuel Church, Emmanuel Church Football Club and friends, relatives and co-workers, will attempt to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in less than 24 hours.

The challenge starts at the base of Ben Nevis at 5pm on Friday, June 14. After Scafell Pike, the final summit is Snowdon, before the group spends a well-earned night's rest in Wales ahead of the return home.

Two training walks have already taken place - around Roseberry Topping, in the Cleveland hills, and Osmotherley, on the North York Moors. There was horizontal sleet for the first and glorious sunshine for the second!

The group is gelling well and everyone is excited about raising as much money as possible.
